This page says what we keep when you use the site, the decoder, the drawing check, the waiting list and the plugin, who else sees it, for how long, and how to ask us to delete it.

The waiting list

Signing up keeps four things: your email address, the day you first signed up, the page you signed up on and its language. They are kept until you ask to be taken off.

We use the address only to tell you when the plugin can be downloaded. It is not sold or given to anyone.

Signing up is your choice, and no law requires it. Without it we simply cannot tell you.

The decoder

The text you paste is sent to our server and decoded. It is not stored anywhere.

Checking a drawing on the site

A drawing you upload to be checked is sent to our server encrypted, checked automatically without anyone opening it, and deleted the moment the answer is sent. The labels shown in the answer go only to your own browser.

Only numbers stay: how many labels the drawing held, how many were broken and of which kind, the names of the fonts the Hebrew was typed in with each one's number of labels, the file size, how long the check took and, if it was refused, why, and the internet address and time, to limit how many checks can be made. They are deleted after 60 days. No text and no part of the drawing is kept.

The plugin

The drawing is sent to the server encrypted, repaired automatically without anyone opening it, and deleted the moment the repaired copy is back with you. The one exception is a drawing you choose to attach to a problem report.

To recognise a computer without exposing it, the plugin sends an identifier computed from the computer's Windows ID. The Windows ID itself never leaves the computer.

  • On install and on removal, the identifier, the plugin version, the internet address and the time are recorded.
  • Each check and each fix records the same, the licence key if there is one, the AutoCAD version, the font you chose for the repair, and a few numbers about the drawing: how many labels it held, how many were found broken of each kind, how many were repaired, the file size, how long it took, and the names of the fonts it was written in (techno_m, for example), each with its number of labels. That is how we learn which old fonts offices use, and improve their repair. No text and no part of the drawing is recorded.
  • These records are deleted after 60 days.

When a computer uses a free fix, its identifier and name, the internet address, and how many free fixes each has used are kept for good, because the 3 are counted for good.

For an office with a licence, each key's computers are kept: identifier, name, and the first and last time it was used. A computer that has not used the key for 30 days, or that the office frees, is removed from the key.

Without this the plugin cannot work, since fixes could not be counted or computers matched to a licence.

Problem reports

When you report from the plugin that something did not work, it sends the email and message you write, the internal ids of the labels you selected in the drawing (not their text), the plugin's last error message and when it appeared, the plugin and AutoCAD versions, the computer's identifier, the licence key if there is one, the internet address and the time. The report is deleted after 30 days. Your email is also remembered on your own computer, so you need not type it again. So that a drawing can be attached, the plugin keeps a compressed copy of the last drawing it sent on your computer, and each new one replaces it. That copy reaches us only if you tick the box to attach it.

Only if you tick the box, the drawing the plugin last sent to be checked or repaired is attached too, as it was before the repair. It is kept until we have dealt with the report, 30 days at most, and then deleted.

What the server records from the site

The server records the internet address and the time of every decode, every sign-up and every press of a waiting-list button, to limit automated use and to count which buttons work. These records are kept apart from the waiting list and deleted after 60 days.

Backups

All of it is kept on one server, and backup copies of it are kept on the server and on a computer of ours. Anything deleted leaves every backup within 31 days.

Visiting the site

The site sets no cookies. We count visits and the use of the tools on our own server, without keeping your internet address or anything you typed or uploaded, and the records are deleted after 13 months.

Before a decode or a drawing check, your browser passes a short check by a security service, usually without you noticing, so that automated programs cannot use the tools. The service receives your internet address and technical details of your browser and connection, and its provider says it uses them only to detect automated programs, not to identify people. The check runs in a frame of its own on the page, and may keep a short record in your browser that you passed it. We keep nothing from it beyond whether you passed.

Who else sees it

Companies that provide our hosting, infrastructure, email and protection from automated programs see information only to provide those services to us. Beyond them, the information is given to no one.
